Valued Added Tax (VAT) is an Irish government tax applied to goods and services. There are three primary VAT rates within Ireland: 23%, 13.5% and 0%. The VAT rate which applies to a specific gift is displayed at the end of the relevant gift description screen. The standard VAT rate is 23% VAT and books at 0% VAT.
Whether VAT is charged is dependent on the gift's destination (the recipient's location). The below table provides a summary:

*VAT Registered Companies outside Ireland but within the EU are VAT exempt if the gift destination is also outside Ireland but within the EU. A valid VAT Number is required in this case.
